In a first-of-a-kind partnership, St. Joseph Health and Nurse Next Door will now be working together to provide home care services in the Southern California region to enable seniors to continue to live independently in their own homes. With a shared vision to provide compassionate care and create healthy communities, Nurse Next Door is excited to work with St. Joseph Health to extend a continuum of care.
Many seniors or those who are released from hospital without the proper care or resources in place to recover, face the high risk of re-admission or health decline. Nurse Next Door meets the growing demand for trusted care for seniors and others who need assistance with personal care, exercise,
healthy meal preparation, transportation or other basic needs in order to remain independent. Nurse Next Door’s various levels of care are available ranging from companionship, Alzheimer’s and dementia support, as well as skilled nursing care. This care is available in the comfort of an individual’s own home so they can age in place as desired.
The need for home care is skyrocketing as more than 10,000 Americans turn 65 each day, and the number of Americans over 65 will double in the next 50 years to 92 million. Significantly, AARP research shows that 90 percent of seniors want to age in their own homes. Maintaining independence, aging with dignity and being treated with respect is the priority.
