Getting Care Should be Easy
When Ken’s pregnant wife, Teena, was placed on emergency bed rest, Ken discovered the challenges in finding reliable home care that he could trust. Inspired by Ken's struggle to find quality care, Ken and his co-founder, John DeHart, launched Nurse Next Door Home Care Services in 2001.
Since franchising in 2007, Nurse Next Door has grown to over 400 locations across Canada, the United States, Australia and England.

From your first visit onwards, our Care Team is available 24/7 to provide monitoring services, respond to immediate change requests, and make sure caregivers are always available as scheduled.

Screened and Tested
Your loved one is in great hands. We run criminal record checks, Tuberculosis tests and reference checks for your peace of mind. All our caregivers come with a minimum of 2 years of experience, so you receive quality care you can trust.
Licensed and Insured
Our caregivers and nurses come in all shapes and sizes. They range from Personal Support Workers to Registered Nurses. For your peace of mind, we ensure our caregivers are licensed and insured.
Comprehensive Training
We set our caregivers up for success by providing training that aligns with our core values and brand promises. They also get access to practice material with scenarios for delivering quality home care. This ensures they feel confident and prepared before arriving at their first visit.
Practical Orientation
We train caregivers in an educational environment where they can ask questions, gain practical knowledge for consistent care, and get familiar with our support teams and systems.
Long-term Retraining
To stay up-to-date with our rapidly growing systems and procedures, caregivers who have worked with us long-term are invited back for retraining. This helps them refresh their skills and realign with our initiatives and standards.

As Vice-President of Operations since 2017, Susan has been instrumental in building and strengthening Nurse Next Door’s infrastructure, and has been pivotal in developing scalable processes. Her leadership focuses on long-term growth and fostering a culture of innovation.

As Vice President of Client Experience at Nurse Next Door since 2014, Veronica has become an integral part of the team, bringing both passion and expertise to everything she does. She is dedicated to creating meaningful, human-centered strategies that not only enhance the client experience but also drive growth, loyalty and long-term relationships. Veronica’s heart for great service and people shines through in her work. She takes great joy in seeing people and businesses flourish—helping them grow and succeed in ways that matter most.
With over 25 years of leadership and business experience, Veronica has worked with iconic international brands like The Gap, Please Mum and Aritzia. Her journey has given her a deep understanding of what it takes to connect with people and make a lasting, positive impact. As Vice-President of Global Franchise Development, Arif has 18+ years of experience with Nurse Next Door. He plays an integral role in expanding the company’s growth into global markets, including Australia and England. Over the years, Arif has overseen the company’s growth from one location in Vancouver to 400+ units in four countries.
Arif is an enthusiastic leader and mentor with experience in new market expansion, sales and marketing, business development, operations and people. He’s passionate about building a business with heart and bringing Happier Aging to more and more people around the world.
Arif has completed a certified executive program with Singularity University and in 2017, was awarded Business in Vancouver’s Top 40 Under 40 Award.
Married with two children, Arif enjoys fitness, golf, skiing and travel, and coaching kids’ soccer.

How much does Nurse Next Door cost?
Nurse Next Door's services vary in price depending on the level of care required and the Nurse Next Door Care team that services your area. To get a better idea of pricing in your area, speak to one of our Care Services Specialists—we're open any time, 24/7.
We also offer a complimentary Caring Consult™, during which one of our care designers will help you determine the amount of care you may require. We'll then work with you to balance your budget and needs and find a home care option for you.
Can I trial Nurse Next Door or do I have to sign a long-term contract?
You are not locked into a long-term contract as a Nurse Next Door client.
To try out Nurse Next Door, just contact us to book a complimentary, no-obligation Caring Consult™. One of our care designers will visit your home to assess your needs and design a care plan with you, including frequency and duration of care.
Are your home care services only for seniors?
No. We provide home care services to people of all ages. While our specialty is providing Happier Aging® experiences to seniors, we also assist with disability care, post-operative care, and more for children and adults.

Will I have the same Care Team all the time?
At Nurse Next Door, we strive to provide consistent care with regularly assigned caregivers. If your Caregiver isn’t available, we will ensure a suitable replacement that meets your unique needs.
Does Nurse Next Door conduct a background check for Caregivers?
Yes, all Nurse Next Door Caregivers are carefully screened with criminal background checks, vulnerable sector checks and reference checks. We verify our Caregivers' educational credentials upon hire and ensure, on an annual basis, that every Nurse is registered and in good standing with their respective College of Nurses.
